Just another miniature & crafty blog, with some purchased finds in miniature as well as some created by me. I love all things made into miniature. And admire all those who create them. My other passion is all things crafty...

My Furry Little Shadow
What can I say... After having big dogs my whole life and with the frame of mind that little dogs were for people like Paris Hilton.. Who knew one little furry Chihuahua would change all that forever!
" Baby" was a present from my oldest daughter on Valentines day last year... and she came dressed for the occasion... she has a heart marking on her back! So very tiny she was... and could fit in the palm of your hand! I think my husband described it best upon our first meeting with her... " The moment our daughter brought her in the house it was like a cartoon.. when little hearts explode around you like stars.. bing, bing, bing... we were in LOVE with her! I can't even remember thinking small dogs were silly. She is now my furry little shadow... And her favorite spot is always on my shoulder or in my arms... and I would have it any other way...

Chanel Logo's
Here is my hand at trying to make a Chanel Logo... Not quite as easy as I thought it would be... After seeing numerous cake decorators or as I call them " Designers" since their work is out of this world ! Many of them create cakes in the shape of Chanel purses... and quite a few you would swear are actual purses ! simply amazing ! But how they got the Chanel logo so perfect is far beyond me !

Tim Burton Styles
The name of the talented artist escapes me at the moment, and as soon as I find it I will post it. But her Tim Burton style of covering glass with clay are amazing. My rendition of her inspiration pales in comparision.

Miniature Glass Aquarium
A while ago I wanted a miniature aquarium for my mini display. After pricing them online they quickley became costly. Ann Zinn sells her aquarium at Mainly Mini's for around $ 179.00 !! Don't get me wrong, it looks amazing! you do however pay extra for the matching stand. I would pay this amount for a 100 plus gallon life size aquarium, but for one in miniature... well... No! ... So I set out to create my own. I found the glass boxes online, I used either natural rocks or microbeads for the gravel. I accented the tank with tiny plastic plants, natural tiny seashells and mini resin fish I found on ebay. Next I had to fill the tank... after a couple of flubs... I filled the aquariums with a resin filler I found at Walmart of all places. In their crafting department it only cost me $ 5.00 ! Can't beat those prices. And there you go... not an Alice Zinn aquarium... But one I can display none the less... Next I made a couple of Reptile habitats as wel...

Switchplates
Another switchplate for my mom's friend. The best thing about creating or covering a switchplate in clay, is that you can cover it easily... design it as if it were a blank canvas ( which is sort of is already) and there you go... Oh, and for the most part switchplate's come in a standard size... so it usually fits for everyone, and make great gifts...
For some awesome examples of polymer clay switchplates.. check out TM Barker Designs on Etsy.com... Now she has created some of the most stunning switchplates that look like art rather then an item you use everyday...
