I just love these modern styled miniatures from SKEA.com.

Their miniatures houses are all very chic and modern as well as functional for a miniature collector. They have lots of houses to choose from as well as accessories, extentions and yard areas. And best of all I have been after my husband to make me a modern styled dollhouse for a couple of years now. Being a General Contractor there really is no excuse ! I know he can do it and so does he ! So what better examle then the SKEA models in miniature. I will have my house this summer... My only problem now is to decide which house I like and want made and or styled the way I want it... to many decisions !!

Another Try At Steampunk

Tree wings Studio is one awesome polymer clay blog !! She is truly a natural talent with some of the most beautiful designs in clay I've come across. Her blog has tutorials in pictures, for beginners like myself... and they are very easy to follow. This isn't to say that they are very complex designs, but at least they give you a sense of creativity that seem easy enough to at least give them a try. Her colors are not complex, and they don't need to be... since the true artistry shines through and is the focal point. Check out her blog, you will not be disappointed !!!

First Try At Mixed Media Steampunk

Here is my first try at "steampunk". I still have to figure out the placement of various parts etc... But learning is always trial and error... and more time to enjoy polymer clay ! Not to mention finding the little parts for steampunk ideas. So far I have found C.F Originals whom I just love her creations ! She also offers bundles of various steampunk parts to use in your designs. And Etsy.com another favorite of mine ! Etsy has a few stores that also sell parts...

Nothing To Do With Creativity

Recently, my sister in-law had a massive seizure, and hit her temporal lobe in the process of falling... thus giving her some brain damage. All this after giving birth to my new nephew. My older nephew called to tell me his mom wasn't talking and was on the floor. I rushed over there not knowing what I might find, and half expecting her to say " I'm okay, I just fell" but this wasn't the case. After calling 911 on my way to their house, I finally get to her and well... the lights were on but nobody was home... they took her to the hospital and she has made baby steps each day so far... Yet her personality is dulled and now that she can talk, it is beyond slow or a delay in her response. She doesn't engage in conversation, but will respond to what you have said to her. All this has left our family tired and overwhelmed to say the least. We can only pray that time will bring her back full circle... for my brother, her children and the rest of us....
